Biological engineering Unit
This unit is tasked with developing the biotechnological and molecular tools essential to other teams in the Life Sciences Department and the CRA-W, in reaction to climate change and society's expectations.
Objectives
Designing, developing and integrating the biotechnological and molecular tools essential to producers and other research teams of the CRA-W.
Harnessing the tools and techniques of conventional and modern biotechnologies (molecular biology, proteomics, bioinformatics, in vitro propagation) in support of sustainable development-oriented agricultural research
Using new plant breeding technologies to understand gene functions and enhance the resilience of agrosystems to climate change
Characterising genomes, transcriptomes, proteomes and metabolomes in relation to agro-environmental issues.
Developing in vitro methods for reliable multiplication, creation and selection of genetic variability
