Alfred Serge Balachowsky (1901-1983), the French entomologist, devoted his life, through his research, to expanding the limits of the organic struggle – of which he was a pioneer – against crop pests and diseases, through living organisms. He was one of the first to denounce the dangers of the reckless use of synthetic pesticides.
