From 1623 to 1784, the members of the Francini family, Italian fountain engineers, organised and staged the pools and water features of the great parks and royal palaces such as Vincennes, Fontainebleau and Versailles. Particularly in Versailles, the brothers Pierre and François Francini amazed the estate with the sparkle and complexity of the fountains they created.
