30 automatic weather stations (AWS) are located in Wallonia. They measure hourly data for air temperature and relative humidity, rainfall, soil surface temperature, soil temperature at -20 cm depth, wind speed and direction, solar radiation and leaf wetness. Weather data are sent by GPRS in real-time to a central server for validation and diffusion to end-users, mainly agricultural decision support systems.
